Jointly exploring new markets

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have positioned themselves successfully on their domestic market often dread export activities due to various problems that may arise:

  • lack of information on the target market, such as lack of knowledge of the market and customer requirements, distribution channels, competition, potential export strategy, contacts etc.,
  • language barriers and misunderstandings due to different mentalities and cultures;
  • increased risk due to foreign legal systems, increased risk of non-payment, complicated control opportunities etc., ignorance of funding opportunities, export financing, official channels, export guarantees;
  • non-assessable costs for market entry and adaptation.

This results in many opportunities that arise in foreign markets remaining unused.

This is where the Project SI-K Exportcoop SEE intervenes with a joint market exploration of selected countries in South Eastern Europe by enterprises from Carinthia and Slovenia. The aim of the partnerships between Carinthian and Slovenian SMEs is to bundle and implement resources and know-how on promising new markets.

South Eastern Europe is of great importance for the economy of Carinthia and Slovenia due to its geographical proximity and, above all, its growth potential. Despite the partly difficult conditions, the market opportunities are still intact and there is an increased backlog in many areas.

As part of this project, small and medium-sized enterprises from Carinthia and Slovenia that are looking for new sales markets in South Eastern Europe and wish to increase sales through export receive professional support from experts. From the start, partnerships with partner companies from both countries receive support and synergy effects are used.

For the project duration, the enterprises are not left alone and are advised and supported by experts in all stages of the internationalization process. They are offered support during the preparation and development of the collaboration and the activities associated with this, such as:

  • market analyses in the target countries (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria and Romania);
  • market entry and distribution strategy for the desired target market;
  • the search for distribution partners on site;
  • establishing direct business contacts in the desired target market.

A large part of the costs incurred are borne by the Operational programme Slovenia - Austria 2007 - 2013.

Your benefits:

  • More sales through the new sales markets.
  • Synergies through partnerships (product supplements, Economies of Scale, cost sharing, know-how, risk reduction‚ preference with regard to EU-funded financing and tenders etc.).
  • "Not being left alone" during the export and/or internationalization process, but receiving specialist support in all stages by experienced experts.
  • The absorption of the initial costs of preparation and development of the collaboration and the cooperative market entry.

Use this unique chance to expand your market:
"Join for success!"

Searching for co-operation partners

A vast interest among the companies to participate in the project SI-K Exportcoop SEE at the end of informational days exceeded all expectations of the project partners.

To maximize the systematic and efficient connections between SMEs and prepare them for the common entries in the target markets of SE Europe, project partners on the basis of given criteria (demand, the suitability of a product or service, etc.) prepared the first selection of the companies for the potential co-operations. The second selection will follow in the second half of June 2013.

However, it is still possible to participate! Get nonbinding information from one of the project partners.
